Notice to contributors of World Journal of
Acupuncture-Moxibustion
World Journal of Acupuncture-Moxibustion is an English academic journal sponsored by World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. It is published quarterly worldwide. The focus of the journal includes, but is not confined to, clinical researches, summary of clinical experiences, experimental researches, clinical reports, needling techniques, moxibustion techniques, acupuncture analgesia and acupuncture anesthesia, reviews, academic discussion, education and academic lectures, researches on historical documents, introduction to typical cases, meridian-collaterals and acupoints,proved acupoint or prescriptions of acupoints, news reports, newly-developed apparatuses, etc. The clinical、experimental papers and articles from teaching are welcomed. The paper should comply with the following items:
- World Journal of Acupunture-Moxibustion adheres to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authors are required to ensure that the guidelines on ICMJE website are followed.
- All papers submitted to our Journal should declare agreement with the ‘statement of human and animal rights’. No paper lacking it will be considered for publication. Papers describing procedures involving humans or animals must include an explicit and easily identifiable statement pointing out that the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national) and with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 2000 and 2008. When reporting experiments on animals, authors must indicate that the institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals was followed.
- All authors must declare financial/commercial conflicts of interest. Even if there are none, this should be stated in a separate paragraph following on from the acknowledgements section. This is a mandatory requirement for all articles. Each author should fill in the “ICMJE Form for Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest” in the download center of the online Manuscript Tracking System (http://cbimg.cnki.net/Editor/2015/1124/sjja/a6d55aac-7913-4406-8d21-7c7b8465287b.pdf) and submit a separate form and is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the submitted information.
- For randomized controlled trials, approval by ethics committee and signed informed consent from each subject must be stated. 5. For the sake of transparency in regard to the performance and reporting of clinical trials, we endorse the policy of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to propose to publish papers on clinical trial results that the trial was recorded in a publicly-accessible registry at its outset. The registers now available, to our knowledge, are http://www.clinical trials.gov sponsored by the United States National Library of Medicine, www.chictr.org/cn sponsored by China. We encourage all potential contributors to register with them. However, in the case that other registers become available you will be duly notified. The place of registration and registration number should be stated during submitting.
6. All manuscripts should be concisely written and should contain complete documentation of results. Manuscripts should be written in English, but for Chinese contributors. If you have difficulties in translation, we will entrust some qualified specialists with your article and you will pay the fee.
7. The traditional Chinese medicine or acupuncture terminology should comply with the WHO INTERNATIONAL STANDARD TERMINOLOGIES ON TRADITIONAL MEIDICINE IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC REGION. The code of the acupoints should comply with the STANDARD OF ACUPUNCTURE NOMENCLATURE.
8. Manuscripts are generally required to be no more than 6 000 words in length including the references 10–20 . Manuscript should be organized in the following order:
(1) Title The title should be concise and descriptive and be limited to 100 characters, including spaces.
(2) Author (s), and author’s work unit and address The authors’ full name (s), the departmental and institutional affiliation of each author, the author (s)’ address (es), postcode, city, state (province), country and first author or correspondent’s e-mail (s) should be included.
(3) Abstract The abstract summarizing the rationale, methods, results and conclusions of the study is required to be about 200–300 words.
(4) Key words Please list 5–10 key words, selected mainly from Index Medicus, which reflect the content of the study.
(5) Text The text of studies should include the following sections: General Data, Methods or Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. For review and other types of papers, the manuscripts vary from these formats. Terms frequently used should be written out completely at first use, abbreviated in parentheses, and abbreviated thereafter.
(6) References The number of the references consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. The form of references should conform to the Index Medicus. Full references should be listed at the end of the paper in appearance order. following the form at below:

(7) Tables Tables are required to be created with the MS-Word Table edit (i.e. do not use tabs and spaces to create a table).
(8) Figure captions and Figures Figures (in format jpg. or gif) should correctly correspond to their citations within the text and be limited to a total number of 5–6 or less.
(9) Supportive foundations The complete name and number of supportive foundations should be provided, e.g. Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China: No. 30224801
(10) Brief introduction of the first author or correspondent Author’s name should be given first, then birth year, gender, title, research field, and E-mail.
(11) Acknowledgements Brief acknowledgments of persons who have made genuine contributions to the manuscript and who endorse the data and conclusions should be included. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to use any copyrighted text and/or illustrations.
9. Neither the editors nor the publisher are responsible for the opinions expressed by contributors. After publication, the authors are obliged to answer any academic questions raised by the readers.
10. Our journal firmly reject any plagiarism or fabricated data. Original papers submitted to World Journal of Acupuncture Moxibustion should not have been published or accepted elsewhere. A letter of recommendation from each author’s organization should be provided with the contributed article to ensure the privacy and secrecy of research is protected.
11. All contributed papers are reviewed by at least two referees, and will be charged. Authors will receive a reply whether your thesis is used or not in 1 months after submission of the manuscript. Authors should retain one copy of the text, tables, photographs and illustrations because rejected manuscripts will not be returned to the author (s) and the editors will not be responsible for loss or damage to photographs and illustrations.
12. The copyright of all materials published will be vested in the World Journal of Acupuncture Moxibustion unless otherwise specifically agreed.

《世界针灸杂志》投稿须知
《世界针灸杂志》是由世界针灸学会联合会、中国中医科学院针灸研究所、中国针灸学会共同主办的英文针灸学术期刊,创刊于1991年,目前为季刊。杂志主要栏目有:临床研究,临床报道,病例讨论,实验研究,针法与灸法,针刺麻醉,专家精粹,理论探讨,经络与腧穴,文献和史料,综述,研究速递等。本刊欢迎来自针灸临床、科研、教学的原始论著,对论文的要求如下:
- 《世界针灸杂志》遵循“国际医学期刊编辑委员会”的规则,作者论文须符合《国际生物医学期刊投稿统一要求》。
- 所有投稿应宣称遵循“人与动物权利声明”,缺少此项者将不被发表。涉及人体的研究必须通过本单位伦理审查委员会的审查,即符合《世界医学会赫尔辛基声明》的要求,动物实验也必须遵守本国或本机构实验动物福利委员会的规定。
- 所有作者应发表利益冲突声明。如果没有利益冲突,也应在文末标明。
- 所有临床试验应提及伦理委员会批准和知情同意书的签署。
5. 本刊遵守“国际医学期刊编辑委员会”的原则:所有发表的临床试验报告必须在国际或中国临床研究注册中心进行注册,请在投稿时注明地点及注册号。
6. 论文必须包括本研究的全部完整结果,并且用英文写作。中国作者可以投中文、英文双语稿件,如果不能提供符合要求的英文稿件,编辑部可以协助翻译,作者需支付翻译费。
7.论文中的中医、针灸名词术语必须采用世界卫生组织西太平洋地区《传统医学术语国际标准》,穴位名称代号须采用世界卫生组织西太平洋地区《针灸名称标准》。
8. 原始论著不宜超过6000字。其中的表格需用三线表,表题要完整,需体现自明性,表格要有单位、样本数量。图片要求清晰度好、层次分明,JPG或TIF格式,300万以上像素;组织学图片要注明放大倍率、染色方法;图片中要标明比例尺,并用箭头标出阳性征象。引用他人工作或观点时务必按引用顺序标注参考文献,研究型论文需要有参考文献10—20条,参考文献的标注格式请参考英文投稿须知。
9.作者的观点不代表编辑及出版商的观点,请文责自负。文章发表后,作者有义务回答读者提出的任何有关学术内容的问题。
10. 本刊坚决拒绝抄袭、伪造数据,论文不得一稿多投。需要时,请提供单位推荐信,以明确论文作者身份和排名、保证该研究不涉及保密内容。
11.所有稿件将由至少两位专家审议并做出评判,作者将在投稿后的1个月内收到是否采用的通知。本刊不退稿,请作者保存稿件的底稿、表格及图片。对于任何稿件、图片的毁损,编辑部不负责任。
12.本刊对所发表论文拥有网络出版权、翻译权、摘编权。如不同意论文被摘编、转载、翻译,请在投稿时声明。
